- Additional Stock History
- =======================================================================

- This version of The Edge shipped with stock history for over
- 600 stocks for July 1995 through mid December 1995. Another
- history file (HIST0195.TXT) is also included. This file contains
- tab delimited history for January through June 1995. To import
- this file use the Import/Export function of The Edge.

- Ultimately you should let the scheduler in The Edge automatically
- update prices each day for all of your stocks from CompuServe
- thereby doing away with the need to receive periodical stock
- history updates from BulletProof.

- Revisions
- =======================================================================
- Version 1.1:
- Fixed a problem that occurred when the scheduler ran an intraday
- event while Ticker List maintenance was open.

- Fixed an import problem when data was imported from a tab
- delimited file with a date in the form of YYMMDD.

- Fixed a problem with the scheduler not running tasks if The Edge
- had been running for more that one day.

- Fixed a small problem that occurred when creating a new event in
- the scheduler.

- Known Problems
- =======================================================================

- Trident Display Drivers:
- ========================
- The Edge experiences a problem starting when the display driver
- being used is a Trident driver. The error occurs when The Edge
- is started and usually mentions a problem with a driver whose
- name begins with AGI. (e.g AGIxxx.DRV).
- To resolve this problem simply switch display drivers to a
- standard windows one. Under Windows3.1 do the following:

- - Exit windows
- - CD to \WINDOWS
- - Run SETUP.EXE
- - Choose a standard SVGA driver where you see the Trident
- driver
- - Save the change and restart windows
- - Start The Edge

- SHARE.EXE
- =========
- The Edge experiences various file opening problems when SHARE.EXE
- is installed. To resolve these problems you should remove references
- to SHARE.EXE from your AUTOEXEC.BAT.

- Other disk problems
- ===================
- Because of the extreme database nature of The Edge, problems such
- as File Allocation Table errors can cause far larger problems for
- The Edge. You should periodically run a disk checking program such
- as SCANDISK.EXE or Norton Disk Doctor to avoid any such problems.

- Turning off your computer while The Edge is running
- ===================================================
- We discourage this because many files are constantly open while The
- Edge is running. A loss of power can result in a corrupt database.
- If you want to set your computer on a timer then you should also
- set up the "Shutdown The Edge" function of the scheduler to close
- The Edge before your timer turns your computer off.

- Backing up The Edge
- ===================
- Due to the fact that power outages are inevitable and The Edge will
- probably be running all day on your machine we strongly recommend
- that you back up the directory on a weekly basis. This will avoid
- the loss of your complete database should such a problem arise.

- Exiting Windows with The Edge still running
- ===========================================
- This will cause an error and stop windows from closing. Unfortunately
- this is a bug in FoxPro which there is no work around for. We will
- however keep trying to resolve it.
